Uncovering Lost Masterpieces: The Andrés Segovia Archive

The Fundación Andrés Segovia in Linares preserves one of the most remarkable archival collections in the history of the guitar, including manuscripts, correspondence, unpublished works and rare documents connected to the legacy of Andrés Segovia. Ricardo Gallén has developed a close and meaningful collaboration with the Foundation, contributing to the research, study, edition and artistic revival of materials of exceptional historical value.

Among the most significant aspects of this work is the preparation and world premiere performance of previously unknown or unpublished works discovered within the archive — music that had remained unheard for decades. This unique collaboration places Gallén at the intersection of scholarship and performance, helping to bring forgotten repertoire back into the living musical world.
